Parisar conducted a trends analysis of PMPML from 2016-18 on various PMPML performance indicators like ridership, breakdowns, fleet size and so on. The results of the study were alarming, showing a stagnation of ridership for the three years.
Based on these findings, Parisar along with Jhatkaa.org started an online petition demanding PMPML take steps to increase its ridership. PMPML CEO Nayana Gunde responded to the petition saying that improvements will begin once new buses are added to the fleet, which is expected to happen shortly. The letter by Parisar has been written in response to this, because the trend analysis clearly shows the need for PMPML to take up a range of improvements immediately without having to wait for new buses.
