As part of the National Road Safety Month 2026, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Traffic Police (PCTP) adopted a creative and impactful approach to enforcement at HP Chowk, Chakan and Triveni Nagar Chowk, Nigdi on 30th and 31st of January 2026. Two-wheeler riders found violating helmet rules were issued challans under Section 129 of the Motor Vehicles Act, and upon recovery of challans were provided helmets by Bridgestone India and Parisar, helping ensure safer journeys beyond the checkpoint. Parisar distributed 25 helmets to the violating riders.

What truly captured public attention was the innovative messaging. Helmetless commuters also encountered Yamraj in their rearview mirrors, and moments later, on their backseats. A powerful reminder that the consequences of unsafe road behaviour can be immediate and irreversible. By combining enforcement with awareness and positive reinforcement, the message was clear: wear a helmet, and don’t let Yamraj become your permanent pillion rider. This initiative was part of the 'Yam Hai Hum' drive, a collaborative effort between PCTP, Bridgestone India CSR, and Parisar.
After this, on 11 February, at the Science Park in Pimpri Chinchwad, Road Safety Month concluded with much-needed imagination, commitment and hope. Children who had spent weeks thinking about safer streets — through quizzes, drawings and performances — were celebrated. Fifty such young champions went home with their first helmets and, more importantly, a lesson in why wearing one matters. A lesson that can shape habits early, protect young lives and travel with them into adulthood.
This lesson was reinforced by Yamraj himself during the screening of ‘Yam Hai Hum’ video. His presence on screen brought laughter, fear and a powerful reminder that every ride deserves protection. This initiative was conducted as part of Bridgestone Project SATARK, with awareness activities led by YOJAK and supported by Parisar, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation and Traffic Police.
